A 911 Diary
In Memoriam...and Renewal

when planes struck the world trade center, the pentagon, and the field in pennsylvania on september 11, 2001, the world as we knew (and trusted) it changed for many of us, too young to remember world war II. i was called by FEMA to do counselling with families and rescue workers down at the world trade center and spent the first few months there. as a catharsis, i began emailing friends and posting on my newsgroups with 'field reports': my jumbled thoughts each day. these are just transcripts of each post, unedited and rambling as they are, from the first week and the two memorial ceremonies months later. i didn't post much after the first week; as i said at the time, "although i continue to go down and work each day, i find i can't write much about it, or talk about it much when i get home, anymore. it's all been said...this is now the long haul, for all of us, i think..." if there are bits that you think would help to bring the situation home to someone, and maybe inspire them to pray for us all, feel free to share.
